I find joy in oreos, quoting movies, flip flops, rice krispies, chick flicks, raspberries, nutella, and the color blue. I believe in singing badly to make a bad day better and I love to walk in the rain.

Once upon a December….
Dancing bears… painted wings… things I almost remember… and a song someone sings, once upon a December….
So what has happened this month?
Well….. we straightened the hair of a certain curly-haired boy…
We also had a Taco Party…
complete with guacamole….
juarritos…
dancing….
and of course tacos….
Then I got a visitor….
We went to the BYU-Oregon game….
and BYU won….
We walked the grounds of Temple Square….
Then we started studying for finals….
This picture was not posed.
Christmas break…. please come sooner!
I’ve almost survived my first semester at BYU…. what?!

Halloween Fun!
Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays! It must be the whole changing your identity thing. Actually, I think I just associate it with our Halloween decorations at home. I asked my mom if I could come home for a weekend just so we could put up Halloween. I don’t think she would do it if I wasn’t there and I couldn’t bear that thought.
Here is the parade of costumes this year:
Bryn was a zombie flapper.
Megan was Velma from Scoobie Doo.
Venice and Forrest were Esme and Count Olaf.
Professor Trelawney.
The Party.
We had a pumpkin carving contest and I got my “Y” pumpkin :)
For our ward party, Venice was Dolores Umbridge so obviously we had our differences throughout the night.
Harry Potter nerds forever!
Happy Halloween!! (Thanksgiving and Christmas around the corner….. YAY!)

Pumpkins and Mission Calls
This week, I was able to drive down to Cedar City and spend time with friends and family. The special occasion? My best friend Andrew opened his mission call!
Naturally, all of his siblings wanted to be there, so he waited over six hours in aggravation before he opened it. I have never seen him so jumpy. We came up with ways to distract him though:
(Sorry the pictures are terrible quality; I forgot my camera.)
We Carved Pumpkins! (Or as Andrew would say: “punkins”)
He carved an Oregon “O” with duck prints around it… surprise, surprise.
I did a violin, although now I wish I had done a “Y” with cougar prints around it, ha ha.
My Papa took us out to dinner. It was so good to see him. (Also, my dad told the waiter it was Andrew’s birthday…eh it might as well have been.)
We read George’s Marvelous Medicine.
He waited anxiously.
Then finally the moment came….
Andrew has been called to serve in the Argentina, Mendoza Mission!!!
I’m so proud of him. He’s going to make a fantastic missionary. I’m so grateful I got to be there for that special experience.
P.S. later in the weekend we fulfilled one of my life dreams of going to a corn maze….. so much fun!

What Are Men to Rocks and Mountains?
Have you ever seen the modern, LDS version of the film Pride and Prejudice? It takes place in, where else but, Provo, Utah and there’s a scene that the two roommates take a break from their men-hating lives and take a drive up the canyon to study.
Venice and I had the same idea this week and decided to take action and go see the leaves. Thankfully, it was before the freakish Utah weather decided to snow. We brought our books, games, and camera and had a wonderful time!
We obviously did a lot of studying….
Autumn leaves are probably one of my favorite things!
My most precious roommate and best friend.
She made an autumn bouquet to put in a vase and on our table.
