My Room

Why, you may ask, am I documenting my room? Well, first of all. I love my room. Second of all, tonight is possibly the last night that I will be sleeping in the room that’s been completely my own. Of course weekend visits and vacations will happen but I’ve seen the last of the days that it held all of my collections, books, and pictures. I’m thinking this was the last summer I will live at home. Not because I didn’t love it, quite the opposite actually. But there’s an exciting future ahead of me that involves, well, who knows what? With that said, “nothing in life is sure.”

Unfortunately, I can’t bring it all with me. So here’s the room I will be missing:

My China display on top of my dresser

My board of fake polaroids (polaroin.com) I used wrapping paper for the background

My wall of high school dance pictures

Snow globes and money from every country I’ve been to

My built in shelf

Hand-painted vanity

Oddly painted chair that I got at an antique store. So rad.

My completely full closet.

(My new closet is about the size of that built-in shelf in the middle. I

don’t know how it’s going to work.)

I love chests. One is beautifully hand-painted and the other is over 100 years old. They both hold high school (and soon to be college) treasures

As you can tell, there’s no color theme. Or really any theme at all. It would have been fun to paint though. Maybe if I come home for another summer, I will.

I’m sure most people don’t have such room-separation anxiety when they go to college but seriously I am going to miss my room so, so much.
